YOASOBI released “Sakihokore” (咲き誇れ) on October 14 as the theme for NHK’s Blossom. The song draws on an original story by novelist Risa Wataya, inspired by the life of writer Chiyo Uno.
According to the official announcement, this is the duo’s first orchestral recording. Ensemble FOVE performs, with live chorus, claps and stomps also recorded. The Sakihokore single gives YOASOBI’s fiction-to-music approach a new orchestral dimension.
