THE YELLOW MONKEY will revive their Mekara Uroko concerts at Nippon Budokan on December 28, eight years after presenting the 2018 edition as the series' finale. Mekara Uroko 37 marks 30 years since the first instalment in 1996, rather than the band's own 30th anniversary.

Launched for the band's seventh birthday, the concerts became a space for unusual setlists and staging, and even hosted their final performance before a long hiatus in 2001. The series returned after the 2016 reunion, only to finish with Mekara Uroko 29 – FINAL in 2018. The band's announcement now confirms its comeback and live viewings across Japan.

Formed in 1989, THE YELLOW MONKEY helped shape 1990s Japanese glam-influenced rock. Reopening this concert tradition connects the band's present to its own defining stages.
