Kenshi Yonezu (米津玄師) has written “Haru ga Tomori” (春が灯り) as the theme song for the first The Apothecary Diaries feature film, due in Japanese cinemas on December 11, 2026. The new trailer introduces the song; a standalone release date has not yet been announced.
In comments reported by Mikiki, Yonezu says he drew on Japanese children’s songs, particularly “Tulip” and “Antagata Dokosa.” He relates the song to the ways things are passed between people without formal recognition, a theme that echoes the film’s mystery surrounding a deceased consort.
Yonezu’s work moves between pop, rock and songs for the screen, including “IRIS OUT” for Chainsaw Man – The Movie: Reze Arc. This new commission begins with melodies from childhood and questions about what one generation passes to the next.
