いきものがかり (Ikimonogakari) is marking the twentieth anniversary of “Koisuru Otome,” first released on October 18, 2006, with three weekly concert-video premieres on its official YouTube channel. A performance of the song from the band's anniversary festival is scheduled for October 18; “Kimi ga Iru” follows on October 25 and “Uruwashiki Hito” on November 1. All three premieres are scheduled for 9 p.m. Japan time.
Since its 2006 major-label debut, Ikimonogakari has built a catalogue of Japanese pop songs that remain familiar across generations. Now a duo featuring Kiyoe Yoshioka and Yoshiki Mizuno, the group is using live footage to revisit that history: according to its official announcement, “Koisuru Otome” has also found renewed attention on social media.
